Blanco County Beekeepers Association

Blanco County Beekeepers Association is the beekeeping community for Blanco and Blanco County, Texas and the surrounding Hill Country. You’ll find members at their regular meeting on the 3rd Thursday at 6:00pm. The club is an affiliate of the Texas Beekeepers Association, whose statewide calendar lists its monthly gatherings, and it keeps an active Facebook group where members trade questions and answers between meetings.

Blanco County sits in the heart of the Texas Hill Country between Austin and San Antonio, and it’s classic beekeeping territory — ranchland, wildflower pastures, and spring flows that small-scale producers turn into distinctive local honey. Many landowners in the county also look into keeping bees for Texas’s agricultural land valuation, and a local club is the practical place to learn what managing hives actually takes, season by season.

Members share hands-on know-how on hive inspections, pest and disease control, requeening, and pulling honey. Beyond meetings, clubs like this help with equipment group-buys, honey extraction, and pointing the public toward local beekeepers for swarm calls — useful from roughly March through June, when Hill Country swarm season peaks and homeowners start finding clusters of bees on fences and eaves. Terms for any removal are worked out with the individual beekeeper.
