Montgomery County Beekeepers Association

Montgomery County Beekeepers Association brings together new and experienced beekeepers around Conroe and Montgomery County, Texas — and it has been doing so for a long time, having been founded in 1975. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office, 9020 Airport Rd, Conroe — a good chance to meet local beekeepers face to face.

What sets this club apart is its structured path for newcomers. The Apprentice Beekeeper Program, which begins at 6:15pm on meeting nights, pairs learning with mentorship so first-year keepers aren’t guessing alone. A Youth Program gets kids started with nucleus-colony (nuc) installations, and the club describes itself simply as a beekeeping club focused on continuing education.

Practical member benefits go beyond the meeting room: members get access to shared extraction equipment at harvest time and a buy/sell/trade marketplace for hives, tools, and bees. The club also runs an interactive Facebook page alongside its main page, so questions get answered between meetings. And like most local associations, it helps point the public toward area beekeepers for swarm calls — a frequent need in fast-growing Montgomery County from roughly March through June, with any removal terms set by the individual beekeeper.
