Magnolia Swarm Beekeepers

Magnolia Swarm Beekeepers is the beekeeping community for Magnolia and Montgomery County, Texas and the surrounding area. Formed in late 2018 as a way for local beekeeping enthusiasts to come together for sharing and learning, the club meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm at the United Methodist Church, 419 Commerce Street in Magnolia — a good chance to meet local beekeepers face to face. New beekeepers can come early: a dedicated New Beekeepers Session starts at 6:15pm before the main meeting.

The group is intentionally wide open, welcoming everyone from people still thinking about keeping bees to commercial beekeepers willing to share what they know. Joining the email list through the club’s site is all it takes to stay in the loop, and the club also posts on Facebook and YouTube.

Members share hands-on know-how on hive inspections, pest and disease control, requeening, and pulling honey — skills that matter in the pine-and-pasture country northwest of Houston. Beyond meetings, clubs like this help with equipment group-buys, honey extraction, and pointing the public toward local beekeepers for swarm calls; swarm season around Magnolia typically runs March through June, and any removal terms are set by the individual beekeeper.
