Anderson County Beekeepers

Anderson County Beekeepers brings together new and experienced beekeepers around Palestine and Anderson County, Texas. The club’s stated mission is to promote the study, science, and craft of beekeeping through education, encouragement, and community for all beekeepers — from folks still thinking about their first hive to established commercial operators. Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday, 6:30-8:30pm, at The Palestine Church, 109 W. Crawford St., and newer beekeepers can arrive early for an entry-level question-and-answer session before the main program.

The volunteer-led association — its president is a Master Beekeeper — runs a Youth Program and a Learning Center, and posts meeting minutes online so members who miss a month can catch up. It also connects members to the wider network of Texas organizations, including the Texas Beekeepers Association and the East Texas Beekeepers Association.

Beyond meetings, clubs like this help with equipment group-buys, honey extraction, and pointing the public toward local beekeepers for swarm calls, which pick up sharply during East Texas swarm season from roughly March through June. Members share hands-on know-how on hive inspections, pest and disease control, requeening, and pulling honey — practical skills that matter in the pasture-and-timber country around Palestine.
