Respite Bee Farm is a family-owned honey bee removal and relocation service based in Rogers, in Bell County, serving Central Texas communities including Belton and Temple.
Because honey bees are vital pollinators, a live-removal beekeeper relocates the colony to an apiary rather than treating it as a pest to exterminate. Owner Ben Baecker brings more than ten years of beekeeping experience and over one hundred completed removals to each job, and the farm maintains roughly seventy bee colonies of its own — so rescued bees join a working apiary managed with what the family describes as a faith-informed, regenerative approach centered on caring for both people and pollinators.
Classes, honey, and ag exemptions
Beyond removals, Respite Bee Farm sells raw local honey harvested from its own apiary and teaches beekeeping internship classes for beginners and experienced beekeepers alike. Landowners with five to twenty acres can lease hives through the farm’s agricultural exemption service, using managed bees to help qualify their property for an ag valuation. The farm’s work has drawn local media attention as well, with features on Channel 6 news and in the Temple Daily Telegram.
